Now that we’re a few days removed from Super Bowl Sunday (that game was nuts!) and Lady Gaga’s halftime performance, the results are in: Not only did she kill it on the fashion tip, but musically her set made fans both new and old run to their wallets and streaming services to buy some of her tunes. Billboard announced that Gaga’s sales rose 1,000%, an expected bump considering the millions of people that tune into the big game annually. But back to that fashion part.

While most were locked in on whether or not Tom Brady could lead his Pats to a comeback victory, I was chatting with stylists and fashion experts about Lady Gaga’s halftime Versace one-piece and whether she scored big with it.
I spoke with Beyonce’s stylist Ty Hunter and pundit Cameron Silver about the fits Mother Monster got off. Cameron referred to the jumper as “ath-leisure on steroids” (that was a compliment, by the way). Ty, who helped style Beyonce for her 2013 SB halftime concert talked about his experience there, while also complimenting Versace for capturing “the Gaga style we grew to love.” Her costumes gave just enough adventure without scaring off simple middle America viewers who might be frightened by a jacket made of Kermit heads.
