Kanye's 'WestDayEver'

Kanye finally got his Gap deal. I say “finally” because he’s been talking about his desire to be a boss creative there for years. The deets:

One of the things I admire most about Kanye is his willingness to share his goals with everyone in real-time, and then execute them in due time. In this interview from 2013, Kanye said he’d just spoken to Gap execs about his dreams of collaborating with them on a wide scale.

Here we are in 2020 and West essentially is a realized version of himself—an elite and prolific producer of music and now an apparel and shoe designer who’s bringing his luxury-level taste to a price-point so accessible that anyone who wants to have a Yeezy something (and that’s a lot of people) will be rocking his garms in 2021.

Anyway, it was a great day for him in other ways, too. His YZY FOAM RNNRs dropped and sold out in minutes. He also previewed his Kids See Ghosts Takashi Murakami-drawn animated show with Kid Cudi.

As he announced these victories (there were several) on Twitter, West added the hashtag #WestDayEver. Obviously it was a great day for him, though I’m sure certainly not surprising. There are more ahead. I bet he’s mapping future wins out to whoever is within earshot now.
