Great show, considering the times we’re in with COVID. So many cool ideas in these pieces. And having Lauryn Hill perform is an unexpected bonus.
Clowns tried to play Virgil a few months back in the midst of this year’s cultural uprisings. Pocket-watching is not cool. Tearing down your people whilst being uninformed and anxious to get jokes off is also uncool. Virgil’s done a world of social good recently, not to mention the inspo he’s provided to kids since he’s gained notoriety.
Peep the way he’s flipping opportunities with his day job to shed light and send cash to those who need it. He’s been incorporating Black/African American culture into his artwork for a while now. Let’s keep lifting him up.
