Theophilus London | 72 Hours B4 Bebey Documentary Short Series

Commissioned by My Bebey Records to create a short-form series documenting Theophilus London on the eve of his Bebey album’s release. He Tells Stories produced videos, photography, and copy for distribution on the Alternative Hip-Hop and R&B artist’s Youtube and social media pages.

Led production and execution of all content, linking his stories with current and forthcoming events and merchandise drops.

“During my darkest times, creating Bebey saved me. ‘She’ forced me to leave LA, bounce from NYC and head to Rhode Island to find myself. Once I unplugged from the world I knew and refueled, good things happened. Virgil Abloh invited me to Paris to walk in his debut Louis Vuitton show and we started building on the idea of an Off-White x Bebey capsule collection. From there I began making music that, hopefully, listeners would connect with.”

Candid, Insightful Clips

Candid, Insightful Clips

Vignettes serve as windows into London’s psyche, revealing delicate layers of an artist hardly ever seen unguarded and without a veneer of cool. This is achieved while connecting the man to his music, each informative clip closing with a fitting Bebey record.

All visuals produced by Left Wrist Media’s Sir Fleming.

“Before the legendary Leon Ware passed, he left me with one last gift: music for a project I was working on that’d eventually become ‘Leon.’ I had to make it the first track you hear on my album. I’m forever thankful for the time we got to spend together.”

"Only You" / "Whiplash"

“Energy and emotion are just as important to a song as lyrics are. With ‘Whoop Tang Flow,’ I wanted you all to experience what a night in NYC—the town that raised me—is like. You can feel the menace, excitement, and anticipation from the moment the beat hits. When you play this one I want you to wild out wherever you are, just like I did here.”
